On Monday, the American Academy of Pediatrics' issued a new report, "The Impact of Social Media Use on Children, Adolescents and Families". The news media has been steadily reporting on the findings of this study, as major outlets around the world have published articles on this subject. They have specifically latched on to one section of the study about "Facebook depression" which is "defined as depression that develops when preteens and teens spend a great deal of time on social media sites, such as Facebook, and then begin to exhibit classic symptoms of depression."
