Fair Play Sports has catered to youth sports while being mindful of tighter budgets for more than a year.  "We are the only sporting goods store that allows parents to trade-up," said owner Cathy Benoit of the Fairpoint Drive retail shop. "As kids outgrow their gear or change their minds, parents could bring in their used equipment for credit on new gear."

Now parents will be able to trade in used bats, baseball gloves or cleats for family entertainment, too, she said.
